•Scopul cursului – să arăte cum este alcătuită pădurea şi cum trăeşte ea, deci să conducă la cunoaşterea structurii şi modului de funcționare a pădurii ca parte a mediului de viaţă.

•Obiectul cursului - este pădurea în ansamblu, comunitatea formată din arbori şi alte organisme asociate, care convieţueşte pe o anumită suprafaţă a uscatului.
•Necesitatea cursului. Pădurea este obiectul muncii silvicultorului. Astfel, prin măsurile pe care le aplică, acţionează asupra structurii şi a funcţionării pădurii pentru a obţine anumite produse sau foloase, în principal lemn, dar şi alte produse, precum şi protecţie hidrologică, climatică şi de altă natură.

• The purpose of the course - to show how the forest is composed and how it lives, so to lead to the knowledge of the structure and the functioning of the forest as part of the living environment.

• The object of the course - is the forest as a whole, the community formed by trees and other associated organisms, which coexists on a certain surface of the land.
• The need for the course. The forest is the object of the forester's work. Thus, through the measures it applies, it acts on the structure and functioning of the forest to obtain certain products or benefits, mainly wood, but also other products, as well as hydrological, climatic and other protection.
